Jesus came upon some scribes and Pharisees form Jerusalem, who asked, why do you go against the elder’s traditions, I guess the JC crew doesn't wash their hands when they eat bread. What? Depending on what you've been doing before eating the bread that could be icky. Jesus answers why to you go against the commandments of God with your traditions? Got commands us to honor our mother and father, and whoever curses them let him dies the death!
But you say, a person says to his parents, whatever you can profit from me is a gift. So parents are kind of using their kids for their own benefit. If he dishonors his parents, he shall be free. Thus your tradition is in direct competition with God’s command.
Okay I needed to get my sisters help figuring out how to write that. Seriously the line read “ But ye say, Whosoever shall say to [his] father or [his] mother, [It is] a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;” We know the “ye” are the scribes and Pharisees, but the rest of it… there weren’t any context clues to go by.
You hypocrites, Esaias prophesied about you saying these people draw near to me speaking, and they honor me with their speech, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain, teaching the commandments of men. Jesus called the crowd and said, listen to me and understand. It’s not what goes in your mouth that defiles a man, but what come out. The disciples asked JC if he knew that the Pharisees were offended by what her was saying.
JC answered and said every plant that God didn’t plant will be rooted up. Let them be, they will be the blind leading the blind. If the blind lead the blind, they both will fall into the ditch. Um just because a person is blind doesn't make them completely incompetent. He answered Peter and said tell us about this parable. Jesus asked him if he didn’t understand.
Don’t you understand, that whatever goes in the mouth, goes in the belly and is cast out into the draught. But the things that come from the mouth, come from the heart, and they defile the man. Wait say what? What if the man has a good heart? Out of the heart comes evil thoughts of murder, adulteries and fornications, theft, lies, and blasphemy. These are the things that defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not. Oh JC seriously washing your hands is going to be way more effective in stopping communicable disease, than when you refrain from talking about the evils in your heart. Seriously.
Jesus then left for the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And a woman can out crying O Lord, Son of David, my daughter is cursed with a devil. But JC didn’t say a word to her. His disciples came and asked him to send her way as she cried after them. JC answered and said, I am sent for the lost sheep of Israel. But the woman worshiped saying, Lord, help me!
JC answered it’s not right to take the children’s bread and give it to the dogs. She agreed but the dogs eat the crumbs from their master’s table. Jesus answered your faith is great, and he healed her daughter full. Thanks JC I was getting nervous there.
JC left, and went near the sea of Galilee and sat up on a mountain as the masses came to him with their blind, lame, dumb, and maimed and may others and JC healed them all. The crowd wondered, when they say all of the healing, and they gave glory to the God of Israel. JC told his disciples, that he had compassion for this crowed because they had followed him for three days with nothing to eat. He didn’t want them fasting to the point of fainting.
And the disciples asked he where are we going to get the food for so many people in the wilderness. So JC asks how many loaves of bread they have. Seven and some little fish. So JC has everyone sit down and broke up the food to share and fed four thousand men plus women and children. Then he sent them away and went to coast of Maddala.
I can’t believe the disciples with so little faith even had ask how they were going to feed the people, JC just did this trick. Sigh… I think I can how JC get’s fed up with his crew sometimes.
I'm telling you, those disciples are slow witted. This is the point in the story when I think Jesus realizes what a burden all these magic tricks have become. Everyone's always bothering him, his disciples are idiots, and really, he knows that the scribes etc... are going to keep coming after him until he either shuts up or is killed.
