15 lines! Chapter six only has fifteen lines! Yay!
In those day, while the number of disciples was growing, the Greeks started whispering about the Hebrews because their widows were not receiving their charity. So the twelve called their disciples, and tell them it wouldn’t be right for us to neglect our preaching and serve them. Let’s find seven honest men among you who are filled with the Holy Ghost who can take care of this problem, while we pray and teach people about JC. Everybody was happy with this solution, they ended up choosing men full of faith and the Holy Ghost, Stephen, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas who was a newcomer from Antioch. After they prayed the apostles laid their hands on them.
The word of God increased as did the number of disciples in Jerusalem, and a large group of the priest were obedient to the faith. Stephen was full of faith and power and worked great wonders and miracles among the people. So there was a certain synagogue, called the Synagogue of the Libertines, the Cyrenians, the Alexandrians, the Cilicia, and of Asia, which is a long title if you ask me, but they were fighting with Stephen. But they couldn’t resist Stevie’s wisdom and the spirited speaking.
Despite that they bribed me to say that Stevie had spoken blasphemy against Moses and God. They stirred up the people, so the elders and scribes brought him to the council. They set up the false witnesses, who told them that Stevie wouldn’t stop blaspheming in this holy place and that’s against the law. We heard him say that JC will destroy this place and change our customs that Moses gave us. The council looked at him and saw that his face was the like the face of an angel.
What? I don't understand what happened in this short chapter except that I think a very charismatic Steven is in trouble. Huh?
